Katraj is a suburb of Pune and comes within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation. It is strategically located on the Pune- Link Road, between Ambegaon and Kondwa in the south of the city. Also, Hinjewadi, the IT hub of Pune is located at a distance of 9 kilometres via the Mumbai- Bypass Road. This locality is famous for Lake which is located in the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park in Katraj. The lake is spread over 17 hectares (42 acres) and is surrounded by Snake Park on three sides.
